Keep your ears open for Scissor Sisters. Their debut album will be out sometime soon. An advance copy of said album mysteriously ended up in my possession here in Japan, and I’ve been listening to it non-stop for the past week.
Their cover of Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb as channeled through the Bee Gees has already been generating interest. But the whole album is excellent.
A few songs from the album are posted on the band’s site, but the quality is not so great. Head over to their label’s site for a chance to listen to (or download) a few good-quality MP3s.

Can anyone help me?? I watched a show last night on TV where the Scissor Sisters performed and I was blown away!! I NEED the song they performed last night!!
I think, judging by some of the lyrics, that it could be called something like “Where is your love”
If anyone can help, I would be very grateful!
Sounds like you saw them perform “Laura,” the first single from their upcoming debut album. According to Scissor Sisters’ web site, Laura was released as a single on Oct. 27. Try your local music store. Or you can try Amazon, which currently only lists an import version.
I live in NYC, and want to know when they’ll show that “so Graham Norton” show from 10/30/03 when the Scissor Sisters played… The G. N website didn’t have an archive for lesser known acts, they show every nite here on BBCAmerica, but it doesn’t seem live….Thanks
I’ve got to admit that I’m more excited about this group than I’ve been in years. Absolutely loving the first two singles, can’t wait for the album. Hopefully going to see them when they come to Brighton (UK) early Feb.
The Album is Grrrrreat! A fresh sound with a lot of influences from different periods and genres. I’m talkin mostly about the 80’s. The album is almost too produced. But it’s great pop. An album you’ve just got to buy!
