Not only did Apple introduce new PowerBooks today, they also showed off a snowboarding jacket designed specifically for the iPod, with built-in sleeve controls. Excellent. You have to hate Apple for making it so tempting to spend so much money.

“You have to hate Apple for making it so
tempting to spend so much money.”
==> best description ever for apple.
I recently bought a remote control for my iPod and while it’s certainly handy, I now have more cables running over me than I know what to do with.
Clothing with cable management options is going to be something we see more of. Good thing, too. Sure wish I had 500 bucks to spare — er, in addition to the price of a 17″ PowerBook, of course.
I still think we need to just do away with the cables. I’m tired of cable management. Let’s make that quantum leap and go wireless. We’re seeing more and more wireless data. Now it’s time for wireless power and (improved) wireless sound.
That page about the Burton jacket doesn’t say anything about washing. Wonder how you clean it? And I love the little “iPod not included” disclaimer.
I’m with you on the 17-inch PowerBook, though the 12-inch one looks tempting as well, in terms of portability. I hate that the PC Card is missing from the smaller ‘Book, though. I don’t think I could do without my PC Card CompactFlash adapter for transferring photos. USB is just way too pokey. And, getting back to the initial subject, a PC Card is much nicer to carry around than yet another (USB) cable.
